Borage Seeds bulk are pressed to produce Borage Seed Oil, which is commonly used in skincare formulations or as a soft gel capsule for a health supplement.
Widely used for its skincare benefits, some studies have reported some positive findings when used topically on atopic dermatitis, whereas others have been unable to conclude a significant impact but showed a small degree of efficiency or were unable to exclude the possibility Borage Oil delivered minor benefits. Another study where participants consumed Borage Oil (400mg of GLA) reported a reduction in acne inflammation and intensity over a ten-week period.
Sort after for its high levels of GLA, Borage Seed Oil contains two to three times more GLA than Evening Primrose Oil. GLA is studied for its anti-inflammatory properties, and although GLA on its own may not be able to relieve pain and inflammation acutely, studies have reported it can aid in reducing inflammation, tender joints, and morning stiffness.
