Packing Room Operator

Midlands Apiaries are the ‘total honey solution provider’ part of Midland Holdings Limited, an established group of businesses that take immense pride in providing quality products and services derived from the arable industry. 

We are seeking one full-time Packing Room Operator to join the packing room - the shift is 6:30 am until 2:30 pm - Monday to Friday.

The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting in the honey packing room operations at the Midlands Apiaries factory in Ashburton.

What you will be doing:

  • Operating packing and process equipment in an efficient, safe and hygienic manner.
  • Ensuring safe & efficient adherence to work instructions, procedures and specifications as documented in the appropriate manuals.
  • Ensuring final product quality standards are maintained to continue delivery of the highest quality product to the customer.
  • Maintaining a high standard of housekeeping in the plant and associated work stations.
  • Active participation in all Plant communication forums, for example, safety discussion, shift handover meetings. 
  • Ensure accurate dispatch of product from the packing room and completion of subsequent documentation.

What you need to have to do this role:

  • Be physically fit
  • Have excellent attention to detail
  • Have excellent organisational skills and record keeping skills
  • Have mechanical/practical skills and perspective
  • Have intermediate computer skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Ideal candidates will have some previous experience operating a Food/Dairy production plant however this is not a minimum requirement.
