About our Beech Honey

Midlands Beech Honey, also known as Forestdew, is a dark, malty honey varietal available in private label and bulk formats. Our vertically integrated operations, independent lab testing, and ongoing R&D investment guarantee consistent, high-quality honey for both end consumers and international FMCG buyers.

Product Information

Unlike our other honeys, Beech Honey (also known as Honeydew or Forest Dew Honey) is collected from Black Beech trees, located in the Alpine forest of the South Island of New Zealand. This honey is uniquely made, firstly small insects deep within the beech forest produce sticky liquid collected on Black Beech trees.  Honeybees then search these remote forests for the New Zealand native tree and collect its nectar.

Our Honeydew Honey can be customised for your business into different jar sizes, jar types and serving options, as well as being able to add different flavour or formulations (ie vitamins or minerals) to suit your customer or market needs.  Whether your business needs your own Private Label Brands, you want to distributor one of our market established Retail Ready Brands, PURITI, Primal By Nature or Mount Somers, or are looking for Bulk Honeydew as a food, cosmetic or pharmaceutical ingredient, we have a wide ranges of solutions to fit your individual business needs.

Frequently asked questions

Beech Honey FAQ's

Welcome to our FAQ section, where we answer the most common questions about our products and their uses. From nutritional benefits to processing tips, we aim to provide clear, practical information to help you make informed decisions—whether you’re a food manufacturer, distributor, or ingredient buyer.

What is honeydew honey?

Honeydew honey is made not from flowers but from nectar-like sap collected from native New Zealand beech forests. It’s dark, rich, and high in natural antioxidants. Its unique origin makes it highly desirable for private label honey brands and international distributors.

What does honeydew honey taste like?

Honeydew honey has a bold, malty, slightly mineral taste with subtle caramel notes. It’s less sweet than floral honey and pairs well with cheeses and wholegrain breads. Its distinctive flavour is popular in premium private label honey collections.

What are the benefits of honeydew honey?

Honeydew honey is naturally rich in antioxidants, minerals, and oligosaccharides, making it great for gut health and overall wellness. These functional benefits also make it a strong performer for wellness-focused private label honey brands in global markets.
