Manuka Honey Origin
In late spring to early summer, the Mānuka tree is covered in masses of flowers. The bee visits this flower to collect the pollen and begins the production of the iconic honey. Once the pollen and nectar are collected, worker bees fly back to the hive, depositing their gatherings into honeycombs. Lastly, our specialised field trucks can relocate hives and transport them back to our honey extraction facility for rigorous harvesting and testing — a process that sets us apart among Manuka honey bulk suppliers.
Our dedicated team will help develop your private label brand and ensure it meets the highest quality standards. Whether you're launching jars or large-scale Manuka honey bulk formats, we offer you a customised total honey solution for your brand.

Why choose Midlands Honey?
Frequently asked questions
Welcome to our FAQ section, where we answer the most common questions about our products and their uses. From nutritional benefits to processing tips, we aim to provide clear, practical information to help you make informed decisions—whether you’re a food manufacturer, distributor, or ingredient buyer.
What is so special about Manuka honey?
Manuka honey is unique because it naturally contains methylglyoxal (MGO), giving it powerful antibacterial properties and a rich, earthy flavour. It’s prized for wellness uses and premium quality. These same qualities make Manuka honey one of the most sought-after options for private label honey brands and global honey distributors.
Why is Manuka honey so expensive in NZ?
Manuka honey is costly due to limited flowering seasons, strict testing, and high global demand. Producing certified monofloral Manuka requires careful hive placement and compliance with New Zealand’s regulations. Its rarity and certification standards also make it a premium choice for private label Manuka honey and wholesale honey suppliers.
What is the difference between Manuka honey and regular honey?
Manuka honey contains naturally higher antibacterial compounds like MGO, giving it a stronger flavour and enhanced functional benefits. Regular honey is milder and varies by floral source. The verified potency of Manuka makes it a leading option for private label Manuka honey manufacturers and premium retail-ready honey ranges.
What is Multifloral vs Monofloral Manuka Honey?
Monofloral Manuka honey comes mainly from the Manuka flower and has higher MGO levels, while multifloral Manuka blends Manuka nectar with other native flowers. Monofloral is typically more potent and premium, making it a top pick for high-end private label Manuka honey brands in the USA.
