At Midlands, our facilities and infrastructure are designed to deliver consistent quality, reliability, and efficiency across all operations—Seed, Honey, and Nutrition. From purpose-built production sites to strategic partnerships and advanced technology, we ensure that every product meets the highest international standards and arrives on time, every time.

Seed Production & Processing

Our Seed operations are based in the heart of New Zealand’s arable farming region, where we combine world-class agronomy, advanced machinery, and strategic partnerships to maximise quality and yield.

  • Advanced Seed Cleaning: Midlands Seed invests in its own equipment, including pulse colour sorters and metal detectors, ensuring every seed batch meets global purity and quality standards.
  • Partnerships for Global Reach: We partner with South Island Seed to operate in Tasmania, expanding our production and processing capabilities in the Southern Hemisphere.
  • Agronomy & Research: Our experienced agronomists work closely with growers, conducting dedicated crop trials, synchronising hybrid seed flowering, and implementing SCID crop isolation programmes to maintain varietal purity.
  • Closed Production Loop: From planting to harvest, we maintain full oversight, ensuring buyers receive products that are consistent, traceable, and of the highest quality.

Our strategic location on the Canterbury Plains, supported by excellent transport links and proximity to deep-water ports, ensures smooth distribution to over 60 destinations worldwide.

Honey Production & Packaging

Midlands Apiaries combines deep Manuka honey expertise with state-of-the-art production and packaging technology. Our facilities are designed to ensure product integrity, consistency, and efficiency at every stage.

  • Advanced Production Technology: Every jar undergoes rigorous verification, including visual inspection, metal detection, weigh checks, and independent laboratory testing.
  • Large-Scale Packing Facility: With a capacity of over 2,000 metric tonnes per year, our packing line handles thousands of jars daily while maintaining strict quality standards.
  • In-House Laboratory Testing: Our experienced team conducts extensive testing to guarantee potency, purity, and compliance with international specifications.
  • Food Safety & Certification: Purpose-built facilities operate under HACCP-based National Programmes and SQF Level 3 food production standards, licensed by New Zealand’s Ministry for Primary Industries.

We also support global clients with end-to-end services, including customised blending, label design, retail-ready packaging, and export documentation, ensuring smooth delivery to international markets.

Nutrition & Superfoods Production

Our Nutrition facilities are purpose-built to extract and process high-quality oils and superfoods with precision and care.

  • Cold-Pressed Oil Extraction: Our enclosed pressing rooms exclude light and heat, preserving the nutritional value of delicate oils, with specialised presses for challenging seeds like hemp.
  • Controlled Environment: Thick concrete walls and insulated rooms maintain consistent temperatures for optimal oil quality.
  • Bottling & Packaging: Purpose-built bottling lines use inert gas flushing and precision filling to ensure product freshness and integrity.
  • Seed Storage & Processing: All seed is machine-dressed for purity, with stringent storage and handling practices to maintain quality throughout the supply chain.

Our Nutrition facilities integrate research, production, and logistics to provide reliable, high-quality ingredients for domestic and international markets.
