Private Label Mānuka Honey
Every batch of Mānuka honey we supply is independently tested against the New Zealand Government's Mānuka honey definition. That definition checks four chemical markers and Mānuka pollen DNA, and honey must pass all five tests to qualify as monofloral Mānuka.
Private label Mānuka can be graded by UMF™ or MGO. MGO is the measured methylglyoxal level. UMF™ is a certification system that tests several quality and authenticity markers, and it's only issued by the UMF Honey Association (UMFHA). Using the UMF™ mark on your label requires a UMFHA licence, and UMFHA rules and fees apply. Midlands holds UMFHA licence #2888, and our team can explain what's involved for your brand before you choose a grading route.

Quality, Testing and Traceability
World-leading quality is our benchmark. All Midlands honey is harvested, packed, tested and certified in New Zealand. Our in-house laboratory tests every batch, and internationally accredited independent laboratories verify the results.
Our processing and packing facility is SQF certified and re-audited every year. Every SQF audit since 2022 has scored 99%, which is in the Excellent rating band. The facility also holds HACCP and GMP certification and operates a Risk Management Programme registered with the Ministry for Primary Industries.
Each order comes with a certificate of analysis, checked against our specifications and yours. Every year, we also test random samples at the end of their shelf life to make sure the grade still matches the label. That way, the honey carrying your brand stays consistent from the first order to the last.
Label Compliance and Design Support
Label requirements depend on your destination market. They can include local language, nutrition information, grade claims, country-of-origin wording, importer details, barcodes, date codes and batch codes. Our team will explain what applies to your market before production starts, so you can avoid relabelling costs and delays.
Before production, we'll agree who is responsible for regulatory review and final label compliance. A label is only market-ready once that review is complete.
We don't take a one-size-fits-all approach to brand development. Our in-market research and knowledge of brand availability help you understand what's needed to launch in your market. Our in-house marketing team and a network of local designers can support your design from the first idea through to testing.
Export Support
Our in-house export and logistics team manages export documentation and shipping. We can arrange export to any country that accepts honey imports, and we currently supply customers in more than 30 countries, including Australia, the United States, the United Kingdom, Japan, China and across Europe and the Middle East.
Our facility is registered with the US FDA, China's GACC and South Korea's MFDS. Midlands also takes part in New Zealand Customs' Secure Exports Scheme, which keeps shipments secure from packing through to export and helps reduce Customs delays.
Before we confirm an export, we'll check your destination market's requirements. These cover the importer of record, label language, import permits, product registrations and shelf-life rules.
Private Label, White Label and OEM Honey
Private label, white label and OEM honey all describe the same service at Midlands. We supply New Zealand honey packed under your brand name. In other industries these terms can mean different levels of customisation, but with honey the product in the jar stays the same. What changes is the specification. We match the honey type, grade, packaging and testing to your requirements and to the rules of your destination market.
Whichever term you use, the process is the same. Tell us what your brand and market need, and we'll build the product around it.
Planning Your Bulk Private Label Order
Bulk private label honey orders are planned around the honey variety, grade, jar size, number of products, label requirements and destination market. These same factors set your minimum order quantity and cost.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is private label honey?
Private label honey is honey produced and packed by a manufacturer, then sold under your own brand name. Midlands supplies and packs the honey, supports label development and manages export, and you sell the finished product as your own.
What private label honey products can Midlands Apiaries supply?
We supply honey in PET and glass jars and squeezy bottles, plus single-serve formats including sachets, snap packs, lozenges, honey drops, throat sprays and lip balms. Retail-ready packaging and displays are also available.
Can Midlands Apiaries supply private label Mānuka honey?
Yes. All our Mānuka honey is independently tested against the New Zealand Government's Mānuka definition, and it can be graded by MGO or UMF™. UMF™ certification is issued only by the UMF Honey Association (UMFHA), and using the UMF™ mark on your label involves UMFHA licensing rules and fees. View our Mānuka honey grades and bulk formats for available options.
What is the minimum order quantity for private label honey?
It depends on the honey variety, grade, packaging format and destination market. Our Mānuka honey MOQ guide explains how order sizes are set.
What affects the cost of private label honey?
Honey type and grade, packaging, label requirements, order volume and freight all affect the final price. Read our guide to Mānuka honey pricing for a full breakdown.
Can you help with label design and compliance?
Yes. We'll explain what your label needs for your target market, and our in-house marketing team and local designers can help with artwork. Responsibility for final label compliance is agreed before production starts.
Do you export private label honey?
Yes. We supply international markets and prepare the export documentation for your destination.
What's the difference between private label, white label and OEM honey?
At Midlands, there's no difference. Private label, white label and OEM all mean New Zealand honey packed under your brand. The honey itself stays the same, and we adjust the specification, packaging and testing to suit your requirements and your market.
How do you make sure the honey is consistent?
Our quality assurance processes are designed to deliver the same standard all year, and our long-term supplier partnerships give us year-round continuity of supply.
Can I try samples before launching my private label range?
Yes. The easiest way to try our honey is through our retail brands, and the cost can be credited against your first order. For established businesses with a confirmed private label project, our team can discuss sample options as part of your enquiry.
What information do I need to request a quote?
Tell us your target market, preferred honey type, product format, expected quantity and launch timing, and whether you already have label artwork. We'll confirm production timing with your quote.
Looking for other options?
Our honey products are also available in our stable of retail-ready brands or in bulk packaging as an ingredient for food or cosmetics.
